There are eight contenders. And on one morning team is a guy with a really unique name. Tim and "My mom calls me George" are on Kiss 107 FM each morning. And they are making their case why they are best on radio.
"Our show is all about the phones. It's all about you. Everybody who calls in. We try to represent the young Cincinnati, people who are going to NKU, going to UC, going to college. They got a first job. They're driving to work in the morning. You know we try to have fun, goof off a little bit and it's all about the people who call, so talk about life, talk about tv, talk about stuff that's going on in Cincinnati. Yeah, our show is like you're out Friday night with your friends hanging out, maybe having a beverage on the couch and you're talking a little bit about work, a little bit about your friends, gossiping about stuff. That's our show in the morning. And the music. Oh yeah, and the music. That's big too."
Another of the morning teams has a unique bond. After work, Chris and Janeen on WGRR head home together, because they are married with microphones.
"The reason you should vote for us, Chris and Janeen, is that being married with microphones, we are just like you. We have faces for radio and we really need this award because you know, we're a married couple working together, it's amazing we haven't killed each other." "Janeen will kill me if we don't win. I work with my wife, folks so this is the reason." "So please vote. Don't kick us off the island, please."
