Smokey Bourbon Brined BBQ Ribs

4 Slabs of Baby Back Ribs

Brine

-2 gallons water
-4 oz bourbon
-¼ cup kosher salt
-¼ cup sugar
-1 Tablespoon pickling spices
-½ teaspoon liquid smoke

BBQ Sauce
-1 14 oz bottle of ketchup
-¼ cup molasses
-¼ cup brown sugar
-1 Tablespoon garlic powder
-1 Tablespoon onion powder
-1 Tablespoon of your favorite hot sauce
-Kosher salt and pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients from BBQ sauce together and refrigerator until needed. In a deep pan mix brine ingredients together until salt and sugar are dissolved. Place Baby Back Ribs into mixture and let marinate in refrigerator for 6-8 hours.

Remove ribs from brine solution and pat dry. Place ribs on a low medium heat grill and let grill for about 45 minutes or until tender. Baste ribs with BBQ sauce and grill about 10 to 15 minutes longer.
